Polish Court Releases Two Israeli Women on Bail in Khat-Smuggling Case

A court in Kraków, Poland, has released two Israeli women on bail in a suspected khat-smuggling case, according to their lawyers. The women, aged 23 and 24, must report to police weekly and remain in Poland until the proceedings end. They were arrested on June 19 after arriving from Israel with a reported 100 kilograms of khat in their luggage, 50 kilograms each. Polish lawyer Wit Steidler represented them, while Israeli lawyer Mordechai Tzivin said he assisted one of the women voluntarily.
