Rome Prosecutors Include Katz in Gaza Flotilla Investigation

Rome prosecutors have included Defense Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in an investigation into alleged mistreatment of Gaza flotilla participants, according to judicial sources. About a dozen figures in Israel’s command chain are under investigation over two flotilla missions. The allegations include kidnapping and torture. In a previously published statement, Israel’s embassy in Australia rejected abuse allegations and said maritime restrictions aim to stop weapons reaching Hamas. Separately, the U.S. Treasury sanctioned four people linked to the flotilla in May, citing ties to terrorist organizations.
