Sisi Proposes Military Academy Program for Future Egyptian Presidential Candidates

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi proposed a 30-month military academy program to prepare qualified people for senior leadership, including future presidential candidates. Speaking at the Egyptian Military Academy's first-cohort graduation on October 17, he said the academy would take responsibility for the preparation and cover its costs. He called for parliamentary and government participation in drafting legislation to govern the selection process. Sisi also reiterated that his presidential term would end in 2030 and said the constitution would remain unchanged.
