Egypt’s Defense Council Pledges All Necessary Support to Saudi Arabia

Egypt’s National Defense Council pledged “all necessary and possible forms of support” to Saudi Arabia on Sunday, following what the Egyptian presidency described as escalating attacks on the kingdom. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi chaired the meeting at Al-Ittihadia Palace in Cairo. The presidency said the support would help defend Saudi security and stability and safeguard its resources, territorial integrity and Islamic holy sites. The council also resolved to intensify political and diplomatic efforts with regional and international parties to reduce tensions and resolve the region’s crises peacefully.
