Hurricane Trudy Strengthens to 105 Mph as Rainbands Affect Mexico

Hurricane Trudy strengthened to maximum sustained winds of 105 mph (165 km/h) at 09:00 UTC on October 18, as outer rainbands affected southwestern and west-central Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. The center was 215 km west-southwest of Manzanillo and moving northwest. A hurricane warning remained in force from Manzanillo to Cabo Corrientes. The NHC forecast 4–8 inches of rain, with isolated totals around 12 inches, near the coasts of Michoacán, Colima and Jalisco, warning of potentially life-threatening flooding and mudslides.
