Lagos Water Corporation Says Its Network Reaches Only 1.03% of Residents

Lagos Water Corporation says its network reaches about 1.03% of Lagos State’s estimated 20 million residents, according to a disclosure published on October 18. Rasaq Anifowoshe, its deputy director for corporate affairs and brand management, said the network has 34,424 registered households. Citing 2025 records, he said production averaged 7.21 million gallons daily, about 3% of installed capacity of 210 million gallons daily. He identified ageing pipelines, population growth and urbanisation as constraints, and outlined plans to rehabilitate smaller treatment plants, extend the network and digitise operations.
