Peru’s Lord of Miracles Image Returns to Government Palace Courtyard After 40 Years

President Keiko Fujimori received the Lord of Miracles image in the Patio de Honor of Lima’s Government Palace on October 18, the presidency said. It was the image’s first entry into that courtyard in 40 years, following its previous visit in 1986. Prime Minister Luis Galarreta and cabinet ministers attended as members of the procession brotherhood carried the platform into the palace on their shoulders. Floral carpets with Peruvian motifs decorated the courtyard, while the Mariscal Domingo Nieto Cavalry Regiment rendered ceremonial honors.
