Transport Ministry Announces Phased Opening of Central Route 60 Section Tonight

The Transport Ministry has announced that a roughly 2-kilometer central section of Route 60 on the Gush Etzion–Jerusalem corridor will open partially tonight, with full opening planned by the end of the week. It connects northern and southern sections totaling about 4.5 kilometers that are already open in their final configurations. Moriah is carrying out the wider upgrade, estimated at NIS 490 million, on a route serving tens of thousands of daily drivers between Gush Etzion, the Hebron Hills and Jerusalem. The project also includes improvements at Efrat North junction and an underpass at HaShayarot junction, expected to open in the first quarter of 2027.
