Grifols Begins Reopening Canadian Plasma Centres in Winnipeg and Edmonton

Grifols began a phased reopening of its Canadian plasma donation centres on October 20, starting with Innovation Drive in Winnipeg and Windermere in Edmonton. The company said both centres would offer fewer daily donor appointments initially, with capacity increasing gradually and other locations reopening progressively. Collection had been voluntarily paused on August 14 while staff worked on quality controls, training and operational readiness. Grifols said it strengthened procedures, documentation and oversight across its 17-centre Canadian network. Canadian Blood Services said quality-system improvements and continued compliance monitoring would support the restart; plasma collected in Canada is reserved for Canadian patients.
