Maritime Tribunal Sets November Hearings in Argentina-UK Oil Dispute

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea has set public hearings for November 10 and 11 in Argentina's case against the United Kingdom over South-West Atlantic oil exploitation. The October 20 order schedules proceedings in Hamburg without granting provisional measures or deciding the merits. Argentina requested provisional measures on October 13, after initiating arbitration on September 28 under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The hearings will be webcast live, with a detailed timetable to be announced later.
