Araghchi Sets Conditions for Renewed U.S. Diplomacy to End Conflict

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran would give diplomacy with the United States another chance if Washington showed clear evidence that it sought a fair and honorable settlement permanently ending the conflict. In an opinion article published Wednesday, he said Tehran wanted a peaceful resolution while remaining prepared to defend itself. Araghchi argued that the United States had shown little willingness to reach an understanding, an assessment he presented as an obstacle to progress. His comments announced no agreement, ceasefire or new round of talks.
