Bennett Seeks Shin Bet Review of Urich’s Qatar Work and Egypt Treaty Risks

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett called on Shin Bet chief David Zini to examine whether Yonatan Urich’s work for Qatar endangered Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt. Bennett asked for scrutiny of whether that work involved a serious security offense, without presenting an official finding. He also urged Zini to keep Urich away from contact with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office amid developments in the Qatargate affair. Bennett questioned what Netanyahu knew about the affair, why Urich continued working for him and the prime minister’s relationship with Qatar.
