Father Reports Genetic Mismatch With Son Born After Fertility Treatment

An unnamed father says a recent genetic test found no genetic match between him and his 12-year-old son, who was born following fertility treatment about 13 years ago. Through lawyers, he requested the remaining sperm samples for further testing, alleging that another man’s sperm had been used. The treating hospital, which was not named, said the samples had passed through three institutions, starting abroad and then reaching two hospitals in Israel. It said the discrepancy required examination of the samples’ handling at each institution and that the case had been reported to the Health Ministry.
