Nigeria Says It Is Working With Uganda to Contain Imported Ebola Case

Nigeria’s health minister Muhammad Pate said on Wednesday that the country was working with Uganda to contain its imported Ebola case and prevent onward transmission. He spoke after a meeting with presidential Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Pate said contact tracing was under way, the national disease-control agency’s incident-management system was operating around the clock and the Presidential Task Force on Ebola was active. Response plans were being reviewed ahead of another government meeting on Thursday. WHO said the patient remained isolated and receiving treatment, with the source of infection still under investigation.
