Senators Beat Panthers 5–1 on Brady Tkachuk’s First Return to Ottawa

The Ottawa Senators beat the Florida Panthers 5–1 at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday, when former captain Brady Tkachuk played his first game back in Ottawa since his June trade. Tkachuk scored the opening goal on a power play midway through the first period, but Ottawa recovered to win. Fans repeatedly booed him, and some threw jerseys onto the ice. Tkachuk spent eight seasons with the Senators, including five as captain. Afterward, he said it was nice to return before the passionate crowd, while Ottawa coach Travis Green compared the atmosphere to a playoff game.
