Energy Ministry Report Proposes Three Paths for Israeli Nuclear Fusion Industry

An Energy and Infrastructure Ministry report sets out three investment paths for developing Israel's nuclear fusion industry. The options range from NIS 50–100 million for research and training to NIS 500 million–1 billion over five to seven years for a national research center, and NIS 1–2 billion for a comprehensive initiative. Prepared by the ministry's strategy division and chief scientist unit, the report identifies Israeli strengths in lasers, power electronics, artificial intelligence, advanced materials and robotics. It also points to existing research infrastructure, including SARAF at the Soreq Nuclear Research Center.
