Hadassah Surgeon Details July Operation Removing Nearly 30 Kilograms of Tissue

Hadassah Ein Kerem surgeons removed nearly 30 kilograms of excess abdominal tissue from a 51-year-old man during a roughly ten-hour operation in July, according to a newly published account from his surgeon. Dr. Dalit Amar-Lisha said further bariatric surgery was unsuitable after earlier procedures had altered his anatomy. The Jerusalem team used a patient lift and metal hooks to support the tissue, with specialists from several surgical disciplines prepared to assist. The patient left hospital after about a week and is rehabilitating at home, although further treatment remains necessary.
