Judge Orders Trump to Sit for Deposition by December 11 in BBC Lawsuit

A federal magistrate judge in Florida ordered President Donald Trump to sit for a deposition by December 11 in his $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the BBC, with possible dismissal if he fails to comply. Judge Enjoliqué Lett issued the direction after the broadcaster's lawyers complained about delays; the deadline is subject to any extension of discovery. Trump sued over a Panorama documentary that spliced together sections of his January 6, 2021 speech. The BBC has acknowledged the edit but disputes that it defamed him or caused damages.
