Trump Backs Ramaswamy Ad Featuring Amy Acton’s Estranged Mother

President Donald Trump urged Republican Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on October 22 to keep running an advertisement featuring Democratic opponent Amy Acton's estranged mother. Governor Mike DeWine, a Republican who still endorses Ramaswamy, had called the advertisement deeply troubling and urged its removal. The ad features Donna Arthur disputing her daughter's account of childhood abuse and urging voters not to support her. Acton's campaign released a response advertisement on October 20 featuring her brother Phil Stearns supporting her account, ahead of Ohio's November 3 election.
