Kenya Reports Second Ebola Death as Seven Patients Remain in Isolation

Kenya's Health Ministry says a 65-year-old woman who was the country's third confirmed Bundibugyo Ebola case died on October 23 while receiving supportive care. She was a close relative and direct contact of the first patient, who also died, and developed symptoms in quarantine on October 13. Her death brings the toll to two among nine confirmed cases, with seven patients receiving treatment at two isolation facilities. Director-General of Health Patrick Amoth said all confirmed cases remain within one cluster of known contacts, with no evidence of community transmission.
