Petah Tikva Approves Conversion of Downtown Building Into Student Housing

Petah Tikva’s local planning and building committee has approved a permit application to convert an existing downtown building into student accommodation, in cooperation with the municipality’s society, youth and young-adults department. The project is part of efforts to strengthen the old city center. Broader renewal work includes Hovevei Zion, Bar Kochba and Stampfer streets and the Haganah pedestrian street. Beit Inbar student housing has already been established on Ichilov Street. Other projects include renovation of the formerly abandoned PICA building and a youth complex in the historic winery on Ussishkin Street.
