Tanker Carrying 40,000 Tons of Russian Diesel Heads Toward New York

LSEG shipping data shown on October 23 indicated that the Malta-flagged tanker Agioi Fanendes was heading toward New York with 40,000 metric tons of Russian ultra-low-sulfur diesel. The medium-sized vessel loaded its cargo at Primorsk, Russia's Baltic Sea port, on October 22. It was expected to reach the United States on November 7, according to the shipping data. The voyage follows a diesel supply arrangement between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
