Alexander Volkanovski Stops Movsar Evloev to Retain UFC Title in Abu Dhabi

Alexander Volkanovski retained his UFC featherweight title by stopping Movsar Evloev at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 24. The 38-year-old champion won by technical knockout from strikes at 4:54 of Round 2, handing Evloev his first defeat and moving ahead of Jose Aldo for the most featherweight title-fight wins. Evloev had success in the opening round before Volkanovski landed a right hand in the second and followed with strikes to finish on the canvas. In the co-main event, Petr Yan retained his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring it 48–47.
