Israel Denies Policy Shift on Argentina’s Falkland Islands Claim

Israel’s Foreign Ministry said Saturday that its position on the Falkland Islands dispute had not changed, rejecting a report that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had decided to support Argentina’s claim. The ministry called the report “incorrect” and said there was “no change in our position on the matter.” Earlier, Alex Gandler, spokesman for Israel’s embassy in Britain, denied an alleged directive to Israeli diplomats. “I categorically deny this allegation. No such directive exists,” he wrote in a public post.
