Lula Urges Brazilians to Vote at Copacabana Rally Before Runoff

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva urged supporters to vote in Sunday's presidential runoff during a rally in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, on October 24. He thanked supporters for their campaign work and said the people had taken responsibility for campaigning. Lula also defended Brazilian sovereignty, public healthcare and workers' rights, and said public works should be assessed on their merits rather than a mayor's political affiliation. First lady Janja Lula da Silva also addressed the gathering, urging women to go to the polls.
