Trappes Shooting Suspect Reportedly Told Police He Targeted Black and Arab People

The suspect in Friday's shooting in Trappes and La Verrière allegedly told responding police that he had targeted Black and Arab people to avenge shopkeepers, according to investigative details reported on Saturday. Investigators reportedly found a copy of Hitler's Mein Kampf during a search of his home in Plaisir, west of Paris. The attack killed one man and wounded five people, including a 12-year-old girl. France's national anti-terrorism prosecutor opened an investigation into murder and attempted murder with a suspected racist motive; investigators were examining possible far-right links, without any organizational connection established in the report.
