Eisenkot's service prerequisite
An unconditional military or national service pledge is required, while the selected Haredi party continues to seek protections for full-time Torah scholars. On 29 October a senior UTJ official said the party would offer to back Eisenkot for prime minister, with a draft-exemption law as its first condition.

In an interview published 24 September, Eisenkot said he does not personally rule out Smotrich but cannot accept his support for a draft-exemption law. A partnership depends on meeting Yashar's conditions, including universal military or national service.
