Route 45 Collision Seriously Injures Motorcyclist Near Jerusalem

A 26-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a collision with a car on Route 45 between the Givat Ze’ev junction and Atarot. Magen David Adom said its Jerusalem dispatch center received the call at 4:30 p.m. and sent medics and paramedics to the scene. The rider, semi-conscious with severe limb injuries, received a tourniquet and bleeding control before evacuation by intensive-care ambulance to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The car driver was lightly injured and also taken to Shaare Zedek, while Jerusalem District traffic investigators opened an inquiry and police managed traffic.
