Supreme Court justice since 2017, with a background in civil litigation and insolvency law. Previously served in Jerusalem’s magistrates’ and district courts.
Background
Born in England in 1959 and moved to Israel in 1970. Served as an Armored Corps officer through the Har Etzion hesder program. Studied law at the Hebrew University, joined the Jerusalem Magistrates’ Court in 1998 and the District Court in 2009, and became a Supreme Court justice in June 2017.
Notable record
- Voted against invalidating the 2023 reasonableness amendment to Basic Law: The Judiciary in the Court’s 8–7 ruling of 1 January 2024.
