Germany, Italy block EU bid to suspend Israel trade pact

At a Luxembourg foreign ministers' meeting, Germany and Italy rejected a Spain-led push, backed by Slovenia and Ireland, to discuss suspending the EU-Israel Association Agreement. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called the suspension demand 'inappropriate,' and EU-Israel trade reached €42.6 billion in 2024.
