Netanyahu Repeats Broad-Government Bid
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used a late televised interview to repeat his bid for a broad national government after the election, saying he is against boycotts and will expand the national camp around clear principles. He said the next government should defend Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people, reject a Palestinian state, keep a proactive security policy and continue judicial reform. He also said a Haredi draft law should be advanced by agreement, respecting Torah study while enforcing service for those not learning. His security doctrine calls for enemy-side buffer zones and no Iranian nuclear weapons.
