Former Supreme Court Justice Edna Arbel Dies at 82
Retired Supreme Court justice and former State Attorney Edna Arbel died Wednesday at 82, closing one of the notable public-service careers in Israel's legal system. Ynet and Calcalist report that Arbel served as State Attorney from 1996 to 2004, was appointed to the Supreme Court in May 2004 and retired in summer 2014; Ice reports the same roles and age. President Isaac Herzog said she left a significant mark on the justice system through mission, responsibility and commitment to the state and rule of law.
