Lufthansa and ITA Resume Ben Gurion Flights After Iran War Halt
German carrier Lufthansa and Italy's ITA Airways resumed flights to and from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport on July 1 after suspensions tied to the U.S.-Israel war against Iran and regional tension. Lufthansa's own update lists two daily Frankfurt-Tel Aviv flights starting July 1, while TTR Weekly reports ITA had announced two daily Rome-Tel Aviv flights from the same date. Times of Israel reports Austrian Airlines had already returned in June, Eurowings is expected by mid-July and SWISS plans Zurich-Tel Aviv service on August 1, even as other major carriers remain slower to return. Restored service is a practical vote of confidence in Israeli resilience and helps reopen the summer travel artery.
