Leiter Says Lebanon Peace Depends on Hezbollah Dismantling
Israel National News reported at 21:18 IDT that Israel's US ambassador Yechiel Leiter told JPPI's Jewish Crossroads that the new Israel-Lebanon framework can open the door to full peace only if Hezbollah is dismantled. Leiter said the agreement is performance-based, not timeline-based, and that Israel will leave Lebanon once Hezbollah's military infrastructure is gone. Ynetnews said he described Lebanese moves to sideline officers unwilling to confront Hezbollah, plus US-backed vetting, training and pilot zones. For Israel, peace with Lebanon is welcome, but northern families are protected only when Iran's proxy, tunnels and weapons are removed.
