Lahav 433 Calls Nahariya Corruption Case Ironclad
Ynet published at 00:00 IDT a first interview with Lahav 433 public-corruption investigators who call the Nahariya case an ironclad file. They allege Deputy Mayor Dima Epstein, police-described northern crime boss Shmulik Harush, Harush associate Eli Yitach and contractor Moshe Elmakias steered municipal tenders and project work, with rival contractors allegedly threatened or paid to stay out. The investigation began in 2025 and, according to the new Ynet account, has now included more than 100 people questioned, about 20 under caution and 16 arrests. The central suspects deny wrongdoing or say their business was lawful. If proven, the case shows why Israeli cities need determined police work to keep public money and development out of criminal hands.
