Israel Police on July 5 arrested a suspect in his 20s at Ben-Gurion Airport over a Jerusalem weapons cache found in a residential building. Police said Jerusalem District officers, Border Police canine units and military police uncovered 36 grenades, explosive charges, rifles, ammunition and other combat equipment, some hidden in children's playrooms. The July 3 search began while looking for a suspected deserter, and a man in his 50s was remanded. Israel must stop battlefield weapons from reaching criminal or terrorist hands while protecting families inside civilian buildings.
