Rodriguez Thanks Israeli Quake Team in Venezuela

Ynet reported at 18:13 IDT that Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodriguez thanked Israel for sending an expert aid mission after the earthquakes and said the team arrived through a connection made by the Venezuelan Jewish community. The Venezuelan National Assembly and Globovision reported the same statement: Rodriguez said Rabbi Cohen helped link Caracas with Israel, and that Israeli specialists were beginning protocols to assess damaged infrastructure and help determine whether survivors or bodies remain under rubble. Earlier Israeli reports say the joint Foreign Ministry and IDF Home Front Command mission is working with local authorities. Israel's rescue skill and Jewish-diaspora bridges are serving civilians even where formal diplomacy has been broken.
