Netanyahu-Trump July Meeting Under Review

Netanyahu, Trump Agree to Meet in US Soon During Phone Call

Israeli and American officials are preparing for a possible Netanyahu-Trump meeting in Washington as soon as July, after the Prime Minister's Office said the two leaders spoke Friday and agreed to meet soon in the United States. A separate September UN trip is also being planned, with Netanyahu expected to speak on September 24 after Yom Kippur and to seek another Trump meeting. New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani's anti-Israel pledge to arrest Netanyahu is part of the security planning, but senior US officials told Israel he lacks authority to enforce ICC warrants. Israel should use the visits to keep Washington focused on Iran, Hezbollah and Gaza while rejecting lawfare theater against an elected Israeli leader.
