IDF Gets Green Light for NIS 130B Force-Build Contracts
Walla reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave the defense establishment a green light to enter contracts with Israeli industries from 2026 worth NIS 130 billion out of a NIS 350 billion decade plan. Jerusalem Post carried the English report, and Israel Hayom separately reported the same approval amid a NIS 40 billion defense-budget gap and reserve-duty pressure. The plan would speed factories and production lines for ammunition and weapons systems, restore ground-force readiness, and advance aircraft, naval, armored-vehicle and space capabilities. Israel should turn hard battlefield lessons into domestic production, durable readiness and stronger deterrence against Iran and its proxies.
