Police Arrest Four Suspects in Umm al-Fahm Murder

Police on July 5 arrested four suspects in the Umm al-Fahm murder investigation. The shooting killed Muhammad Kassab, in his 30s, and moderately wounded another man, hours after Muhammad Halayla was shot dead in nearby Deir Hanna. 151 people have been murdered in Arab society this year, and police said the Umm al-Fahm scene had been washed and evidence removed before officers arrived. Israel must answer the Arab-crime wave with steady police pressure, witness protection and prosecutions that let law-abiding Arab citizens live safely under Israeli sovereignty.
