Damascus Blasts Wound 18 During Macron Visit
Syria's Interior Ministry said two explosions near Damascus's Tourism Ministry wounded 18 people, including four police officers, during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit. The ministry said security forces found two improvised devices, one in a roadside vehicle and one in a trash container, and that they detonated while specialized units were preparing to neutralize them. Macron was at the presidential palace for talks with President Ahmad al-Sharaa, and officials said the blasts were outside his security perimeter and his visit continued. The update follows the earlier report of blasts near the Four Seasons area and came days after another Damascus bombing, on a Syrian front that borders Israel's Golan Heights.
