Rodriguez Receives Israeli Quake-Recovery Plan

Israel's delegation in Venezuela, including Home Front Command representatives in IDF uniforms, met overnight with acting President Delcy Rodriguez and presented a national recovery plan drafted with the local infrastructure ministry for quake-hit areas. The plan covers triage of about 1,300 buildings for repair or demolition, demolition of dangerous structures, debris removal and preparing cleared zones for rebuilding. Earlier reports said Brig. Gen. Elad Edri's roughly 30-person expert team was sent at Caracas's request despite the absence of formal relations since 2009 and was received warmly while working with local officials and the Jewish community. The latest toll is 3,685 dead and 16,740 injured.
