Four Segev Shalom Bedouins Indicted for Hamas-Inspired Beersheba Mass-Shooting Plot

Southern District prosecutors indicted four Bedouin residents of Segev Shalom in Beersheba District Court on Friday over a plot to open fire at Beersheba's central bus station, storm the town's police station, and strike Israeli security forces operating in the community. According to the indictment, the self-appointed cell commander ran an Instagram account praising Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and the Lions' Den, shared October 7 massacre footage, and issued calls for jihad and martyrdom, telling investigators he built the framework after the May 2021 mixed-city riots. The cell upgraded its plan from a stabbing to a shooting after concluding knives would not suffice, obtained explosive instructional videos, and one member was intercepted en route to attack. The Shin Bet, the Southern District Major Crimes Unit and the Border Police's Yamas South undercover team made the arrests across May and June. Charges include conspiracy to commit terror, terror training, incitement, and identifying with a terrorist organization.
