Britain Designates Iran's Revolutionary Guards After Threats on British Soil

Britain designated Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps after authorities identified IRGC-linked threats to life and intimidation on British soil. Security Minister Angela Eagle said members of the IRGC's Quds Force almost certainly directed attacks across Europe by the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right. Britain designated that group as well; it has claimed seven attacks in the country, including arson and vandalism against Jewish community sites. The Guards are Iran's powerful paramilitary force, while the Quds Force is its expeditionary unit.
