State Withdraws Indictment Against Aid-Truck Protest Organizer

Israeli authorities withdrew the indictment against Tzav 9 co-founder Reut Ben Haim on Monday, and the Kiryat Gat Magistrate's Court canceled the case. The charge stemmed from a May 27, 2025 protest at the Ashdod Port junction, where prosecutors said Ben Haim and another activist sat in the road, blocked humanitarian-aid trucks bound for Gaza and refused police orders to move. Her attorneys, Tsofia Nahone and Reut Avital-Avni, said the withdrawal corrected an unfounded case that infringed speech and protest rights. Ben Haim said public pressure had prevailed and pledged to continue opposing aid transfers she says benefit Hamas while communities near Gaza remain at risk.
