Zini Files High Court Opinion Backing Kahanist Party's Election Bid

Shin Bet chief David Zini filed a Supreme Court opinion Monday backing the Complete and Strong Jewish Israel party's right to contest the coming Knesset election, splitting from the security service's professional cadre. The Jewish Division and Research Division heads recommended maintaining the party registrar's disqualification on grounds tied to the banned Kach movement. Zini and his deputy said the underlying intelligence should be reassessed and asked that the court reconsider the ban. Party founders Michael Ben Ari and Baruch Marzel are longtime figures linked to National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's Otzma Yehudit.
