Brett McGurk Memoir to Detail October 7 Hostage Negotiations

Crown announced Wednesday that former U.S. Middle East adviser Brett McGurk will publish ‘Brink: Inside the Race to Free the October 7 Hostages’ on October 6. The 256-page memoir will recount his work overseeing negotiations after Hamas's October 7, 2023, attack, including talks involving Israel, Qatar, Egypt and other regional governments. The publisher says McGurk will describe his coordination with Steve Witkoff during the transition between the Biden and Trump administrations. The book will also address a near-agreement on Israel-Saudi normalization before the Hamas assault and the diplomatic effort that ultimately helped secure hostage releases.
