Hemispheric Unveils Brain-Decoding AI After $52 Million Raise

Israeli startup Hemispheric emerged from six years of stealth Wednesday after raising $52 million across three rounds and unveiled Descartes, a six-billion-parameter AI model designed to decode noninvasive brain signals. The model was trained on more than 250,000 hours of EEG, behavioral and multimodal data from over 100,000 people. The company says a roughly 15-minute EEG session can convert electrical activity into quantitative measures for researchers and clinicians. Initial applications will target PTSD, mild traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and Alzheimer's disease, while the funds will expand deployment, data collection and clinical-approval work.
