Pregnant Woman Killed in Ashdod Crash, Baby Delivered in Serious Condition

A 35-year-old woman in advanced pregnancy died Wednesday after a head-on collision between two vehicles near Ashdod Port. Magen David Adom crews treated her for multiple injuries and took her to Assuta Ashdod in serious condition, while four other people were lightly injured. Doctors performed an emergency Caesarean section, but the mother died during the operation; the baby girl was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit in serious condition. Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
