Police Foil Lod Assassination Attempt and Arrest Four Suspects

Border Police and Lod station officers foiled a suspected criminal assassination attempt during a proactive overnight operation in Lod. Police said officers heard several bursts of gunfire, rushed toward the shots and arrested an armed suspect holding a loaded Glock with a round chambered. Searches led to three more arrests and a vehicle containing live ammunition with its license plates obscured by black tape. Officers also seized four pistol magazines, ammunition, knives and a substance suspected of being drugs; all four suspects were taken for questioning.
